Camping Fun!

Off to a great start!

Cassidy was stripping leaves and sticks from a branch we cut for her to use as her marshmallow stick.

She was so thrilled to go for a ride on the 4-wheeler with Daddy. If I added sound you would hear the squeals of delight as they pulled away!

Good morning sunshine!

Brandon... reading, reading, reading... he went through 4 books while we were camping. We kept telling him he could read at home. GO PLAY IN THE WOODS OR SOMETHING!!!

The camp spot we were in had a neat tradition of signing rocks and leaving them behind in the site. Everywhere you looked there were rocks with names, dates, poems, messages... it was really neat, and a tradition I think we will carry on every time we camp. :)

Headed up to cut firewood

Cassidy told me this was Tinkerbell's house.

We went hiking up to see the falls. The first one we came to was Fern Falls.

We finally got up to Shadow Falls. It is so pretty.

Yes, I was a mean mom and made my kids stand in the icy cold water and freeze while I tried to get a good picture of them in front of the falls.

A random hiker was nice enough to take our picture after watching us taking turns trying to get each other with the kids.

After we got back from hiking, the kids decided to play in the river for a while.

After playing in the water... it was back to reading. :)

We spent a lot of time riding bikes while we were camping. Cassidy perfected her starting and stopping by herself. She has been able to ride two wheels for a while now, but starting herself has been a challenge. She was soooo proud to finally overcome that last hurdle!!

Of course, after dinner every night, we made s'mores.

The sunsets were beautiful up there!

Campfires, Marshmallows, and poking at the fire with big sticks.... these are the best parts of camping!

On our last day, we packed up and got ready to head home. No one was happier than Sophie who couldn't wait to not have to be on a leash or a chain all the time!

We Chopped it off!

Cassidy was not at all sure about cutting her hair off. In fact, she was really upset about it. In the end, she discovered that she LOVED her haircut!! Her hair was just to thin to be long right now. It either had to be pulled back or look stringy. I think the shorter cut looks just adorable on her!
